My first Ales and Tales was a great experience, though I almost slept through it. Old Wineyards did a great job. I was glad I got to tell a tale (yes, I play as Adbern), though it was quite rocky. Perhaps I should have written down beforehand. Oh well! I look forward to attending the next A&T that I will be available for.

Yes, if you chat in the /say channel it appears as floating text. I believe there’s a setting in the Options panel that can be checked or unchecked to control whether you see it though (called maybe “chat bubbles”?). Also, you can only see the text if you are fairly close to the speaker, so if someone at Ales & Tales gets too far away from the stage they may not hear what’s going on, and sometimes a bug occurs so that even if you are in the range where you should be able to hear, you won’t hear until you walk up VERY close to the speaker…
