Ales and Tales at Home

This week’s Ales and Tales took place at its new home, the Ales and Tales tavern in the LMB neighbourhood of Raglan!

Azrul returned to the Ales and Tales stage, and in honor of the new tavern’s beginning he played a tune on the instrument that he performed on at his first Ales and Tales, the lute.

Brenyn played a song in celebration of Lothlorien which got many a dancer up on their feet!

Sadie Huckleberry of Crickhollow (Sadiebelle on Landroval) shared a song that put her in mind of Shire evenings.

Many in the audience were moved to tears when Lyonardo recited a sad poem in honor of the recently departed Bounder, Olalie, who was a patron of Ales and Tales from its very first meeting at the Green Dragon Inn more than a year ago.

After the dancing (see below!) we walked over to the Lonely Mountain Brewery in another corner of Raglan, where Brandlaff provided tours of the facilities and Dharius provided a tale of a pirate…part one, actually, with the conclusion yet to come!

We gathered under the stars in the tavern’s front yard for circle dances within a fine old ruin…

And more

Look out world: Vuvuzelarry continues to refine his remarkable performance at Nibbles & Nobs…

It was a bit much for Harpereena!

We had some new yet oddly familiar faces this week. Byrdie’s friend from Dale, Elwynia (better known as Nia), came in her stead; while Aldekim was sadly unable to attend until musical mentoring at the end, because his housemate Dori Bolger locked him in the pantry so *he* could go to the party instead. 🙂

Tinki found a most suitable perch:

Lennidhren disappeared a bit early as my game crashed just as Hireldal was coming up to perform a song after Dharius’ tale. I’m not sure if there were any more acts after that and before musical mentoring; it was already after midnight so I didn’t attempt to get back in game, and therefore here my report must end! We bid Raglan Road adieu and prepare for next week’s Ales and Tales in the new Greenhouse at Thorin’s Gate (which I have yet to locate. Anyone want to give directions in comments? 🙂 ), but we will be sure to return to the Ales and Tales tavern ere long for another at-home celebration!
