Women of Star Wars Appreciation Week: Duchess Satine Kryze

Day 5: You’re going down a path I can’t follow.

It is interesting to see one individual who opposed the whole deal of the secretly set up war and generally did a lot of bold choices. It’s actually pretty rare to find a woman character who stands by controversial decisions and makes personal sacrifices as a political figure. Also it was
extremely refreshing to get at least one Mandalorian who didn’t do the whole
‘armour-clad cool warrior’ stereotype – it worked to flesh out her personality and goals as unique.

I wish we could have seen Satine live up to the Empire and how she’d deal with that and the Rebellion… Would she pursue peaceful and crafty methods of standing up to unfairness and resisting aggression?

Satine’s a formidable woman in all regards (…) – she
knows she’s in a den of wolves and must appear powerful and unshakable.
