Someone asked for Fenris in Seheron, so I drew him with the Fog Warriors.

(There’s no way he didn’t go on a few raids with them…)

As I’ve registered a resurgence of reblogs in the old 2014 post, I’ve decided it’s time to make an official 2016 post. Yes, if there’s need, we’re coming back this year! Rules are the same as always. For newcomers:

What: Use Your Language Day (UYLD),  a day for everyoe whose native language is not English to let down their hair and celebrate and use that language for 24 for hours.

When: May 7th, midnight to midnight, according to your time zone. Yes we do know that May 7th isn’t a Wednesday.

How: Starting midnight, your time zone, you can star blogging/tagging/replying in your native language. The fun bit is when your Spanish-speaking mutual comes into your askbox speaking Spanish, and you reply in German and everybody abuses Google Translate.

Why: A lot of us feel like we’re obliged to write in English all the time, and while that may not be true (we’re always free to use our own native languages after all), social pressure and habit come into play. It’s just how it’s done on Tumblr. Some of us also do it for the sake of accessibility, so doing it too often sometimes isn’t an option. UYLD is a day to let loose and reconnect with our cultures (especially for those who are disconnected from their native culture, because of migration, linguistic imperialism etc.)

But...: If you have any doubts or questions, PLEASE READ THE FAQ. Questions that are already covered in the FAQ will be disregarded. If you have a never-before-seen original question then ask this blog! I’m always interested in suggestions/feedback regarding inclusivity and accessibility.

Please make sure you tag all your posts “use your language day” or “uyld” or some variation thereof, if you are able, so that if people need to blacklist for accessibility reasons they can do so. This is about having fun, not distressing other people.

On this blog, search #uyld blog psa for updates, #uyld replies for things other people have asked last year, and #uyld debates for language/UYLD-related discussion. There are also tags for a variety of other topics which can be found in our tags page.

Have fun!

Spending too much time on niche fanart is my superpower.

Betty’s Certainly Not A Giveaway

Hello everyone!

Since this tumblr’s sort of second anniversary is coming up/already happened and I got a bunch of new followers in January I thought I could do a giveaway. Though the ~rules~ will be a different than they usually are for these things, to ensure that only people who are really interested in winning will enter. 🙂

What can you win?

One of my piano improvisations. Personally made for you!

You’ve written a fanfic/poem/song lyrics/idk whatever that you think deserves its own soundtrack? Awesome! Let me read it and I’ll record a track inspired by it! (If it’s a very long fic, maybe just for one chapter 😉 )

You have a favourite poem or passage or etc written by someone else and would love some music to go with it? Aw yeah!

Maybe you draw and think one of your drawings should totally have some background music accompanying it? Sweet! I’d love to try that!

You have a favourite song/soundtrack theme and would like a piano cover/piano version? Yesssss! [As long as I can find the piano notes and it’s playable, of course.]

How to enter?

Send me an ask! (and/or contact me on tumblr messenger, it might be more reliable, because tumblr… is the worst)

Yes, that’s all. Just send me a message like “Betty, I love you, play for me, play for me my angel of music” or something with less creepy Phantom of the Opera vibes. At the end of the Not Giveaway, I will pick 4 winners with a random number generator (if there’s more than 4 participants, anyway) and will contact the winners so they can tell me what they want me to do. [There’s always a chance I might do more than 4 later on, depending on my time/mood/need to play the piano!]

Who can enter?

Anyone who is following me!

(New followers welcome of course, but if you just follow for this that would be super rude and are people even that much into piano improvs that you’d just follow for this? I don’t think so.)

I’m going to accept entries until the 29th of February and will reblog this post a couple of times.

Feel free to ask any questions!

If you want to know what to expect, here’s my piano tag!

Thanks for following me! ❤

optional ?

Last day!

If you didn’t get a reply from me to confirm that you’re on the giveaway list, please send me a message again, tumblr has been rude!

Re-imagining Hawke’s champion armor got out of hand as usual

Well, I made it about two weeks before I felt the compelling need to make more adjustments, so I’m just going to officially declare this chart an ongoing project. I’d basically been treating it as a living document, but hadn’t been looking at it that way. Perspective is everything! (Many thanks to the lovely Karin Weekes for bringing all of this into focus. Great editors are lifesavers. 😀 )

What does that change for the fandom? Nothing! I’ll continue doing updates like this and the permanent location of the chart remains the same. Just be sure to check there for the most recent version if you’re using the chart as a resource.

Anyway, onto the update (10/12/2015)!

Morrigan finally moved back to INTJ. Her emotions lie closer to the surface than the ENTJs; she just hides them behind a front, as we saw in Origins. Plus her leading Ni gets her into as much trouble as Solas’s does.

Duncan was a tough one. His functions did seem right as an ISFP, but the priority order was wrong. Duncan’s emotions aren’t nearly as close to the surface as I had thought. It can be harder to tell in older characters, as they’ve had time to develop their lower functions. But no, Duncan is more likely an ENTJ. He’s pragmatic with a focus on the long term, generally an indicator of high Ni use. I’m still open to reconsidering his type, but this feels right.
