Another old midi recovered from my college days. This is a motif for Tycho Celchu of Rogue Squadron novels/comics.

Recovered from an old CD: Winter, a song I composed back in college (in midi format, in Noteworthy Composer) for Winter Celchu of the Rogue Squadron comics/novels.*

*also I’m calling her Winter Celchu because I can’t even remember at this point what her maiden name was…she married Tycho eventually, right?

Self-Positivity Meme

@spirrum tagged me for the meme in which you list your five
favorite fanfics or artworks that you’ve done. I think I shall list a bit of
both, although my art medium is not pixels but yarn. 🙂

Favorites I’ve written:

Such As
– the fourth in the Hawkquisition series and I feel like it’s a
much stronger story than the previous three. I like writing Fenris/Hawke fluff,
but keeping them apart for a few months on separate adventures of inquisition
business and parenthood business worked out surprisingly well. Maybe because it
made room for epistolary fluff. Also because it led them to Metis.

– my second favorite ship to write for: Carver/Merrill. Theirs was a background
relationship in Hawkquisition but this sort of long one-shot let me explore the
beginnings of that relationship, all in the context of templar drama and red
lyrium and glimpses of Hawke leaving Fenris behind to go to Skyhold.

Corellian Rogue in King Arthur’s Court
– WELL YOU SEE once upon a time I
used to write Star Wars fanfic, particularly Rogue Squadron, and this crossover
with Camelot…well. It was a delight.

In the
– I also used to write LOTR fanfic, primarily for performing at Ales
and Tales, the weekly variety show my kin in LOTRO ran. (Runs? They still run
it. I burnt out after stage managing it for a good while and stopped playing
LOTRO; now I hesitate to return to it because I know how much time I’d end up
investing there and I’ve transferred those investments to things like Fenhawke
fanfic and I’m not prepared to cut back there just yet.) Anyway this story was
a response to a prompt where people suggested random elements to include and a
RNG picked three of them. It ended up as a tale told by my lore-master,
Lennidhren of Lorien, about a haunting experience in the Prancing Pony and a
glimpse back through the ages to the Fall of Gondolin…I’m really quite proud of
this one!

And one favorite I knitted:

Fenris Doll!
Although he’s part of a set for @my-hart-will-go-on, the Hawke doll’s outfit is
still under construction but Fenris is finished and is one of the BEST things I
have knit yet. (And if you’re on Ravelry, I’m magistra there – feel free to
friend me and see what else I’ve knit. 🙂 )

For the SW questions: 11, 15, 16, 31 & 40 :)

Thanks for asking!

  • 11. Favorite character from the expanded universe?

OK, does Wedge Antilles count as a character from the EU because of how much his character was, well, expanded in it?

If not, then…Wes Janson! No, Tycho Celchu! No, Hobbie Klivian! Um, if it’s not apparent yet, my favorite part of the EU was the X-wing series. 🙂

  • 15. Would you rather be a Rebel or a member of the Imperial Navy? What would your role be?

Certainly a Rebel, but probably something behind-the-scenes like analyzing intelligence reports or I don’t even know what behind-the-scenes Rebels do.

  • 16. If you could be any species from the SWU which would you be?

Oooh, well, I think my favorite one to be in SWTOR was probably…hm…well my Chiss Imp Agent was fun! Let’s go with that.

  • 31. Are there things about the movies you wish you could change? If so, name 3.

I…guess not, really? I’ve never felt the urge to write a fix-it fic for SW, so apparently there’s nothing I particularly want to fix. Expanding on it, now…

  • 40. Have you ever written SW fan fiction? Can we read it?

Oh, indeed! In college I was part of an ongoing collaborative fic with fellow X-wing novels fans that involved bringing our favorite pilots to Earth to help search for a missing member of Alt.Fan.Wedge. It was awesome. There’s also the story about how the X-wing became a constellation, and there’s the crossover with the Fab Four X-wing pilots (see my answer to question #11…) and Camelot!

While responding to some comments on the drabbles I’ve posted lately on AO3 (*swoon* comments! oh how you’ve made my day, dear kind readers! */swoon*), I remembered I’d posted these old stories there a while ago. They were originally written long before I was on Tumblr, and probably before there was a Tumblr come to think of it, also before there was an AO3 and possible some of them before Livejournal. I’m old. But I thought perhaps they’d be of interest to some, so I’ll link them here and you can make of it what you will!

The first one was written in my Usenet days (Yes, I’m old.) for Alt.Fan.Wedge. Because my niche of the Star Wars fandom was and always shall be the X-wing pilot Cult of the True Animist Warrior God.

Also, King Arthur. Yes, it’s a Camelot/Rogue Squadron crossover. Bet you don’t see those every day.

If you haven’t read the X-wing: Rogue Squadron novels and/or comics, this probably won’t even make sense, but I always liked it, so here you go.

The “fab four” of Rogue Squadron – Wedge Antilles, Tycho Celchu, Wes Janson, and Derek “Hobbie” Klivian – find themselves whisked away to a strange new world in the heat of space battle. Now it’s all about the heat of, er, jousting as they look for a way from Camelot back home to the New Republic…
